The first staircase on Richmond, by Brooks st was 52 steps, with a handrail in the middle. At the top of the staircase, I landed on Fairmont Ave. Turned right and passed by the Christian Church on 29th st and headed into the parking lot.
At the end of the parking lot found a wooden staircase. 41 steps down and then just straight ahead found a 71 concrete staircase. Noticed a white cat at the top of the staircase. This led me to Hamilton Pl, and a bunch of homes that have improved very little since the 1900s.
I hit Harrison St and then turned right onto Orange St. This was a slight uphill climb and noticed the victorian homes. After 243 Perkins St, headed down Perkins Way. An urban walkway with plenty of graffiti, then an additional 19 steps at the end of the walkway that led me down to Oakland Ave.
Crossed the street and found the next walkway with 14 steps right after 2 stores. Turned right where Harrison met Frisbie. Took the first right onto Fairmount, then turned left onto Kempton Ave.
Climbed a bit, found a 159 step staircase between 3287 and 3301. Appreciated a view of downtown Oakland and admired the plants by the homes on the side of the staircase.
Crossed the street to the creek and then climbed 14 more steps by the Oak Glen park which led me to Richmond. I turned left until I reached my starting point and actually bumped into an old classmate on the way.
