San Francisco Bay Area's Secret Stairway Hiking and Hidden Pathways
Over 1000 Hidden Stairways and Secret Pathways are embellished in Oakland Hills , Berkeley, San Francisco, Sausalito, & Mill Valley . Stair Walkers can link many of these gems together to form ''Urban Hiking'' Routes.
Welcome! My name is Julian Michelucci. I'm an avid fan of the quirky activity known as stairway hiking. I hike up and down the bay area's hidden stairways, and appreciate their surrounding paths, viewpoints, abundant gardens, hidden parks, old homes, and historical architecture . I enjoy the challenge of climbing them, especially the Filbert Steps in San Francisco's Telegraph Hill -which culminate up to the famous Coit Tower. In addition to hiking the stairways in San Francisco, I also love to explore many other historic staircases in hilly areas of the bay such as Oakland Hills, Berkeley Hills, Sausolito, El Cerrito and Mill Valley. Stairway Walking is my favorite type of Urban Hiking. Most of these stairs and paths can be linked together to form looped hiking routes. Some are so hidden that even local residents have yet to discover them!
Other Stairway Cities I would like to visit in the future: Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati.
