That led me up to Walker Avenue. I crossed Walker and the upper part of Davidson Way led me to another 156 steps. I reached the top and was on Vermont St. I turned left for 2 blocks, then turned left on Fairbanks. Turned left on Boulelard Way and that led me further east but back onto Grand Avenue.
I turned right for a moment and then crossed the street and continued on Jean St. Walked a block on this nice and peaceful street and towards the end of the street, just before the Rose Garden, spotted a 83 step modern looking stairway. Climbed up and then continued on the path to my left which led me down to the entrance of the park.
I meandered around the park and appreciated the big pond and the squirrels surrounding it. I didn't spot quite as many roses or plants as the Berkeley Rose Garden, but the pond made the difference. An outstanding 102 steps awaited me just northwest of the pond. Climbed it and noticed runners on it.
That led me to Monte Vista and Vernon. I crossed Oakland Avenue onto Monte Vista. Continued for a bit and made a left turn onto Harrison Street. I actually took this too far. Instead of turning on Santa Rosa, I walked all the way to Santa Clara and further on west. All of a sudden the neighborhood wasn't very nice at all. Couples fighting, a plethora of men playing loud rap music and spitting out of their windows. I headed back and then found Santa Rosa.
There were 2 more walkways along the way. A small walkway with a few steps led me to Santa Rosa and then 5 long blocks until I reached Jean ST again. Turned right and then another left onto Alta Vista, which led me to a short walkway down the hill which ultimately led me back to Grand Ave.
