I had went left when i was supposed to go right, and so i stumbled across a couple of statues, a turtle and a dolphin. I headed right and an older gentlemen told me how to get to Shelly Lake. I passed Jerry Garcia Amphitheater and there were many kids playing on the stage, perhaps it was a summer time teens club. I took a gravel trail that took me uphill for a while and then downhill towards the end. I finally arrived at Shelly Lake. It was very calm and peaceful and had rocks on the sides of it. I walked around the whole thing and then headed up a 45 step rail road stairway.
Following the stairway, I saw views of a blue water tower. I headed right on the trail by the tower and it took me down to Winsfield and Burrows. I took that down until I hit Avalon, turned left on Avalon and then right on Excelsior. After that I turned right on Athens until I reached Athens and Avalon. There was a 79 step steep stairway. I climbed it and noticed that they are going to clean up the area. They are going to paint the stairs and plant some herbs and plants in the open space area. I am excited to do that. The stairway was nice and steep but too run down.
Following the Athens Stairway, I continued on Athens until I reached Peru street. The Peru Stairway was twisting and not quite as steep, though did consist of 77 steps, I think they were railroad tie but Im not sure. Then I saw a beautiful view of downtown San Francisco from the very top.
